Refund & Returns Policy

Plain-language note: This is a starting template, not yet reviewed by a lawyer. It describes how we handle refunds and returns, and we show a link to it before you pay.

Every PrintBound book is custom-made to order from your content. Because each book is printed just for you, it can't be restocked or resold — so our policy is built around making it right, not taking returns.

Custom print-on-demand goods

Your book is a custom, made-to-order item. Once it has entered production at our print partner, it cannot be returned, exchanged, or refunded for buyer's remorse, a change of mind, or a typo or error in the content you submitted. Please review your content carefully before you order.

When we give a full refund

We will issue a full refund (or, at your choice, a free reprint) if your order is:

  • Defective — a printing or binding flaw, such as misbound pages, missing or blank pages, or a damaged cover;
  • Wrong — the book you received is not the book you ordered;
  • Lost in transit — the carrier confirms it was lost or it never arrives;
  • Cancelled by us — we refuse or cancel your order for any reason (see our Terms of Service); or
  • Late — we fail to ship within the time we represented and you do not wish to wait.

For defective, wrong, or damaged books, contact us within 30 days of delivery at hello@printbound.net with your order reference and a photo of the problem. You won't need to ship the book back unless we ask.

Cancelling an order

Because production starts quickly, you can cancel for a full refund only during the brief window after payment and before we send your print-ready file to our print partner for production. Once your file has been submitted to production, the order can no longer be cancelled, though the full-refund situations above still apply. To request a cancellation, email hello@printbound.net as soon as possible with your order reference; we'll cancel and refund it if production has not yet started.

How refunds are issued

Approved refunds are returned to your original payment method through Stripe. It may take a few business days for your bank or card issuer to post the refund. This policy is disclosed to you, and linked, before you pay, and it does not limit any rights you may have under applicable consumer-protection law.

Shipping window

We aim to print and ship most orders within typically 7–10 business days of payment, to addresses in the contiguous United States (the lower 48 states). If we can't meet that window, we'll notify you and offer the choice to keep waiting or cancel for a full refund.
